• Levelland High School DI Clean Up Project

  • Levelland High School DI (Destination Imagination) team members donned masks and gloves before filling trash bags full of pine needles, dead leaves, grass and trash during clean-up beside and behind the Chain of Life Mosaic. Students cleaned up the wall on the backside of the mosaic on North Martin Luther King Blvd. on the north side of Levelland. The wall was covered in graffiti and the group scraped and washed the wall before painting it. Volunteers who were recruited to help the team trimmed many pine trees that framed the mosaic. The project concluded with teammates painting both the front and the back of the wall that supports the mosaic. This project was initiated by the LHS DI team which identified the problem area and set out to do something about it. This concerned and dedicated group managed to collect 720 pounds of litter and debris from their efforts. The clean-up is a project that will be carried to competition in Lubbock in March.
